SELF-ASSESSMENT MODULE
This course, which has been accredited by the American Board of Radiology (ABR) for Self-Assessment Module (SAM) maintenance of certification credit for both physicians and medical physicists, is available from September 26, 2019, through 11:59 p.m. Eastern time on September 26, 2022.
The activity is approximately 1-hour in length.
Brain science continues to evolve and along with it so must diagnoses and treatment options. Optimizing patient care by combining clinical and technological breakthroughs; incorporating artificial intelligence and brain-fusion techniques; and collaboration with innovation are critical to advancing functional neurological treatment breakthroughs. This session will highlight the advancements in the treatment of Parkinson’s Disease, Epilepsy, Trigeminal Neuralgia, Obsessive Compulsive Disorders and Essential Tremors using Stereotactic Radiosurgery from a few of the world’s leading neurosurgeons.
This program is designed to meet the needs of radiation oncologists, neurosurgeons, medical physicists, residents-in-training and healthcare professionals with interest in learning about the recent developments in stereotactic radiosurgery for functional disease such as: Essential Tremors, Epilepsy, Obsessive Compulsive Disorder and focused ultrasound.
In support of improving patient care, this activity has been planned and implemented by Amedco LLC and the Radiosurgery Society. Amedco LLC is jointly accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME), the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE), and the American Nurses Credentialing Center (ANCC), to provide continuing education for the healthcare team.
Amedco LLC designates this enduring activity for a maximum of 1.0 AMA PRA Category 1 Credits™ for physicians and 1.0 contact hours for nurses. Learners should claim only the credit commensurate with the extent of their participation in the activity.
The Radiosurgery Society Self-Assessment Module (SAM) titled Recent Developments in SRS for Functional Diseases is qualified by the American Board of Radiology in meeting the criteria for self-assessment toward the purpose of fulfilling requirements in the ABR Maintenance of Certification Program and has been qualified for 1.0 SAM credits. The ABR qualified this SAM on September 26, 2019.
Physicists: Please note that AMA Category 1 CE offerings count towards ARB-MOC credits. The Radiosurgery Society does not offer CAMPEP credit for our Self-Assessment Modules (SAMs).

The course and its materials will only be available on the RSS website for that 3 year period regardless of purchase date. At the expiration of the qualification, participants will no longer have access to the course or its materials. The RSS reserves the right to remove a course before the end of its qualification period.
